Well, it seems that I might actually be home again for an extended period of time. Which will be nice since then I'll be able to see friends (Joey, Sarah, Shawn) and I just recently visited my family, which was nice. I really forget how awesome California is. Drove through Davis (friendliest bike city in the country I believe..) then saw tons of bikers rocking it on the hills of San Francisco. Even saw a fixed gear or two.. which was quite freaking awesome if you ask me.
Anyways, I should be in town for the rest of the year. Yeah I know.. laugh all you want, but who knows, maybe the deal I made with the devil won't be so bad. We'll have to see. But definetely Joey.. we should chill.. kick it old school.. and all that other jazz.
In other news, I'm going to try to sneak out of work early. By sneak I mean ask my boss if he would care if I left. I'm guessing no.
Alright, I'm off.. going to try to ride my bike a little with the Sean.
Later

Fecking awesome. Will be in town on the 19th. I expect you to hella party like it was fall 2000 to spring 2004. phone # still work?
Yes Joey.. my number is still the same. Shawn, you should totally come party with Joey.. I'm sure you've enjoyed his blog comments, and I think he is into crazy history and cultures and all that jazz that you no technical major people think is real school. Also, as last night clearly indicated, i'm slow as snails when it comes to riding.
ADDENDUM: i keep saying "the 19th" when what i really mean is "the 18th."
pshawn and i have met before, and yes, we do indeed both enjoy cultures and things.
nope.. slow as snails.. sean was running out of gearing trying to go that slow. He even through a chain and still passed me. Craziness.
pshawn! let's do that now! choose your subfield:
archaeology
sociocultural
linguistic
physical
Dave isn't a slow as he says he is.
I hope by "party like it was fall 2000 to spring 2004" you don't mean "watch Cheerleader Ninjas and play GTA 2 at the same time." I WILL NEVER FORGIVE IAN FOR CHEERLEADER NINJAS.
joey and pshawn: why can hobbesian politics not be a topic as well?? i'm not a math nerd! i need stimulating liberal arts education too!
dave and sean - whoa whoa whoa, am i to understand that yall watched a movie called cheerleading ninjas?? this from the same people who bitched about kingdom of heaven??
Kingdom of Heaven was a terrible movie. Cheerleader Ninjas was probably the worst movie I've ever seen in my life. But, we were also playing GTA while we watched it. So it wasn't too bad. Kingdom of Heaven was just gut wrentchingly terrible.
And I believe that everyone had to take some math and science while gaining their Liberal Arts education.. so can't that be stimulating also?
Cheerleader Ninjas was an education experience in what not to order at the Boob Job Hut. Also, it was a terrible, terrible movie.
I still say that "Rollerball" was even worse, despite the much higher Needless-Nightvision Quotient. Regardless: this is all Ian's fault.
The math and science classes that I took in college were "Math in a Global Context" and "Intro to Physics." In the math class I learned about other cultures (with math) and how to count to ten in ancient Egyptian. It was my favorite class freshman year. The physics class was different. I answered every question in class with "GRAVITY!?!?!?" and Dr Rolleigh hated me. I think that I took a biology class too. It was okay.
Actually, I'm nowadays swiftly replacing all my precious anthropology learning with classics art and archaeology stuff... I can tell you a lot about how Roman kilns worked, at least.
I've taken all the math classes that I've taken and applied it to scooping up dirt in New Orleans and sitting around monitoring the air. Fantastically enjoyable times. I mean.. it is important to understand Set Theory when you are trying not to fall face first in 10 inches of sludge inside someone's flood destroyed home.
I wish I knew how Roman Kilns worked.
dave- your application of math is so totally awesomer than anything ever that i cannot express the glee in my wee. also i'm sorry for what i just said. i finished a paper!
pshawn- i miss sociocultural :( i need me some theory goodness, but all i get is "updraught" this, "typology" that. humbug.
