More Pictures..

Check out the creepy doll in a tree. There are a lot of creepy things in these houses.. you walk in to sample and suddenly you are staring at a display case full of these things. Freaky.

Here is me in my sampling machine... or am I the sampling machine?

This is just odd if you ask me. I didn't know this, but it seems to be a pretty predominatly catholic area down here. Go figure.

Ok, that is all for the moment. Take care people.. I'll post more later. Dinner time.

Stable Internet

So I've moved out of the hotel into a house that we've gotten down here. And the house is using a pretty nifty little toy called a Junction Box. Uses a Verizon broadband card and it broadcasts the signal all over the house. Pretty nice if you ask me.

So I'll try to catch up on e-mail and the such which I've not been really paying attention to lately. I have some more pictures which I'll post tomorrow night.. or the following. We might go hit Bourbon street again. I think that we've been going there just about every other night. Now if I drank that might seem exciting, but watching a bunch of drunk co-workers, well.. that has a certian about of entertainment value in itself.

So yeah.. sorry I've been completely gone for so long. I'll try not to let that happen again.

Anyways, I'm outta here.

Oh, Sean, they have the Bicycling's Complete Guide to Bike Maintenance in the room that I got in the house. Clearly a sign.

Finally, some pictures.

Common thoughts of many of the residents down here.

I just like this picture.

One of the more damaged houses in the area I'm working. Well then there are the houses that are just gone.

Hehe.. people still have a good sense of humour.

New Orleans

So I'm working down here in New Orleans at the moment. It is quite crazy. I've never really worked in the aftermath of a natural disaster like Katrina or Rita. But this is insane. Stuff is all over the place. I saw a boat on a roof.. cars leaning against houses, ontop of other cars. Even saw an inground pool moved above ground and out of the backyard. Craziness.

But the place doesn't even seem like a city anymore. Staying in a hotel in downtown.. lights are only on for about a mile.. if that. Lots of shops are closed, obviously looted. Some shops which sell junk were fine.. other things were ruined. It is crazy if you ask me. People park where ever they want, people sleep in their cars. So much work to be done and so few places to stay.

Well I have to get back to home sampling.. we might be done in.. shoot.. sometime. But I'll probably be in Illinois eventually again. And maybe I'll see my apartment again sometime.

Tuesday

So things with work here in Illinois have taken a turn for the worse. Less hours, doing less, sitting around more. I'm failing to see the point of it all at the moment. I don't mind traveling, though sometimes it because annoying, but traveling twice a week to be back in Little Rock for less than 48 hours.. that is just crappy. And I'm doing the same thing, sitting in the same chair, living in the same hotel room.. since the end of July. I've had 2 weeks where I wasn't here. That is just crap. I would much rather do other stuff, though it would probably be the same, at least I would get to share in the stories that at the moment I only hear about. Stupid work.

Anyways, my Specialized should be coming in anytime now. I'm very excited about that. It is going to be so sweet. I can't wait. Still haven't decided what wheels to get.. maybe Ksyrium SSC SLs, just since everyone has them.. or perhaps a pair of carbon racing wheels, I just can't decided. Maybe both. HA. No.. I can't justify that. :(

Ok, I'm outta here.. drop a comment if you got any ideas how to make the tedium of Illinois better. The best 5 suggestions will be placed into a hat and one will be picked. That activity, whatever it may be will be undertaken some week when I'm up here and need a change.
