I was just coming home from Subway.. really short ride over there.. and I was stopping in front of my apartment.. when apparently I broke 2 bolts on my crank and bent and broke my chain ring. I'm really amazed that my chain didn't break first... though when I went to look, I couldn't find any broken bolts. So they might have come off on the ride home, though I didn't feel much wobble or play.. so, who knows. I can't imagine having actually done this without something else failing. Oh well, makes for a good picture.

Later
Strangest component failure ever.
ReplyDeleteseriously.. but I ordered new ones.. and some Phil Wood hubs.. going to build up me a sweet bike.
ReplyDeleteWay to go all out. I guess you'll also have to set it up with a real-man gearing, yeah?
ReplyDeleteYou know, It's a good thing you and I decided not to be professional cyclists. I'd feel weird frequently injecting someone else's blood into my body.
Yes, I'll be putting a more robust gear ratio on it now. Going to be sweet. If all the stuff comes in this week I might try to make it to the track this weekend, we'll see. Have to lace the wheels and everything.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for Vino.. oh well.
